One of the best ways to get paid online and create a passive income is by creating and publishing valuable educational content. People are hungry for knowledge out there. The consumption of information in the form of video is growing everyday, to the point that YouTube is now considered the 2nd biggest search engine behind Google. It's no longer a secret how many millionaires both young (mostly, truth be told); and old have hit it big on YouTube. So there's a golden rush toward that platform. if you can create and upload original content that attract viewers on a consistent basis, you're pretty much set. All that is needed is one video to go viral to hit it big.
But in all the craze for video making and for becoming the next video influencer, there are those online marketers who are quietly making more than a decent amount of money while enjoying less popularity and attention than the typical YouTube or Instagram influencer. One of the top influencer on YouTube named Shelby Church who shares among others information about ways to make money from home; went to find more about the paid for posting opportunity. What she found is that the participants in that particular making money online bizop do the same thing as YouTubers and other social media influencers, i.e create and post original education, information packed content in the form of articles. These are published on Medium.com which is a company started by the founders of Twitter as you'll learn on Shelby's video below. They also build a following of article readers. The big find is that for an amount of work in terms of time and effort required to write an article versus creating a YouTube video; Medium requires less effort and time while seemingly pays more and better than YouTube. So in the video below, Shelby after interviewing successful Medium members decided to give it a go for her channel subscribers. So part 1 of her experiment is here below:
As you probably know by now, the experiment was not that profitable. But there are very valuable lessons that Shelby shares about making money online and in anything in general; and on Medium.com in particular. So as the successful entrepreneur she's become, she decided to give the experiment some time and run it for a while so she can draw some more accurate conclusions in the second part of the video which is below:
Now what a difference a month makes isn't it? From $0.04 to over $6K from only one article. Just as in YouTube, it only takes 1 to break the bank. But persistence and consistency are required. Obviously not everyone will make that amount of money and in Shelby's case there may be special circumstances or factors that might have contributed; still the business of writing and posting articles on the Medium.com platform can be very lucrative. Did we mention that there's a free partner program that you need to sign to join in if you are to pursue that route?
In conclusion, I had already heard of this Medium.com website and partner program through an affiliate marketing course that I purchased. The latter was intended to learning how to generate free targeted traffic to my affiliate links and other online assets. This is the part that Shelby does not fully address; not because she doesn't know about it, but most likely because that was not the purpose of her video. Still, be aware that this platform is a powerful tool to generate free visitors (remember how she mentioned that she had a little over 300 views on her article? Many online marketers aka website owners pay hundreds, if not thousands to attract similar traffic on their blogs or site.
At any rate, I was completely blindsided to the commission sharing opportunity available through that site. But then I am glad that I have found about our famous YouTube influencer's video. I have learned one (if not several) key to getting not only traffic, but also big payment deposits.
Finally, notice how Shelby proceeded before drawing any conclusions: She heard; then she investigated by interviewing those who are successful at the thing (i.e getting paid for writing on Medium.com); not just listening to naysayers and other complainers. Shelby acted upon what information she gathered from those interviews-again success leaves clues...Just model successful people. She refrained from reaching any conclusions even when the "experiment" appeared to be "failing". She persisted, gave it time. She got the reward. That's what successful people do even online. Lesson for all myself included to be honest.
I am definitely glad to have found these videos. The girl is sure to be not only a beauty (don't let that be a distraction...cause it can be...just saying..) but also she's smart. I can go on and on about the whole experience and things I have learned from watching Shelby's approach to the Medium.com opportunity, but I'll stop here by saying t'was certainly a beautiful and inspiring learning lesson for this fella. Hope you agree. All there's to do is execute by modeling what works. Results will sure be there, maybe not at the same level, but results, there shall be.
